Let’s celebrate the arrival of September with some beautiful French grapes from Provence. In our fruit range all week we have the gorgeous Muscat de Hambourg variety.
Betty and Jean-Charles are small organic wholesale producers in the region. It’s hard to ignore its silver glow, we cannot stop trying “just the one” when we walk past them.
Our supply this week is arriving from Noves, a small village located 15 kilometers away from Avignon. The Mediterranean climate here, with clear blue skies and high temperatures bring the ideal conditions for the sugar level to reach the perfect level.
Growing table grapes is very different to growing them for wine-making. They are grown high on a trellis so the fruit can develop its flavours fully exposed to the sun and away from the wild boar and deer.
We’ll have full supply all week and the season will last through the autumn until November.
