With the weather still making us want to feel cosy we’re keying up for our Easter Roasts and whatever is on offer in your household we’ve got the veg to accompany it.
We’re recommending purple sprouting broccoli as the perfect seasonal companion and we have seen some sensational deliveries this year so far. This week it’s coming from Organic Pantry in Tadcaster and we’re more than looking forward to it.
On the potato front we think one of our best roasters this week is Cara a newer variety from John at Newfields mildly sweet, slightly fluffy and an excellent crisper. We’ve also a good amount of Twinner potatoes in from Chapel up in Scotland which lend themselves equally as well to a tin of hot fat.
We’ve still a smattering of parsnips from Royal Oak in Ormskirk and we’ve the first hits of some really lovely Spring greens from Strawberry Fields and New Farm in Lincolnshire on Friday for the perfect leafy side dish, as well as savoy cabbages from John up in Newfields from Thursday.
We’ve also a full range of herbs on offer with French Rosemary and Mint supplementing Lincolnshire growers Strawberry Fields Thyme and Tarragon.
