At certain times of year our veg buyers struggle to find a full supply of beans for our shelves but not this week!
Our fridges are full of crisp and delicious French beans, and they are looking and tasting absolutely perfect!
Bang them into a curry or a stir fry this week, but with the temperatures climbing again, we also love them lightly blanched or roasted and tossed into a salad with a vibrant dressing.
This week ours are coming from Foskett in Suffolk, and summer stalwart Lancashire suppliers Libby and Paul Flintoff in Preston. At this time of year they are often up with the larks picking before the temperatures rise too much in the tunnels, and their french beans and other crops are quite often picked, delivered and on the shop floor on the same day.
Hard to beat for flavour and freshness!
