Today’s veg news is spotlighting beautiful berries 🍓 We have a wonderful range of Spanish blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries this week, courtesy of our growers on the continent.
Mild, sunny winters in southern Spain mean these berries have the perfect growing conditions to develop their sweetness, bringing a much-needed dose of Spanish sunshine to a cold February day. We’ve been missing a consistent, steady UK supply of organic strawberries in recent years, but excitingly, we’ve now crop-planned with Kindling Farm, who we hope will be supplying us with locally grown UK strawberries from next summer.
The Spanish berries are arriving perfectly ripe, so we recommend eating them soon after purchase to really enjoy them at their best. Raspberries, in particular, are sweet, aromatic, and bursting with flavour.
Try them scattered over porridge, yoghurt, or cereal, or simply eat them as they are to enjoy a little taste of sunshine ☀️
