A great range of upcycled bags made locally in Lancashire.
Upso founder David, an expert bag maker always looking for ways to maximise resources and minimise waste, found lorry tarpaulins to be a great material to use, being both waterproof and durable. These tarps would normally end up in landfill at the end of their life on the road until David had the brilliant idea of turning them into bags.
UPSO minimise their environmental impact by sourcing tarpaulins locally and making them all under one roof in one Lancashire factory with solar powered sewing machines. There’s further upcycling in these products; they use old fire hoses and seat belt webbing as components.
Upso is a great example of how one small business has a role in circular economy, reducing waste and making our finite resources last longer.
