Parkin
A November staple. Make ahead of time as it improves with keeping – after a few days it’s wonderfully moist and sticky, and rich in flavour (but can start out a on the dry side).
Natto Pancake
Eat on its own or with steamed greens, soy sauce and chilli sauce. For more information on natto, see Crispy Natto recipe.
Pasta E Fagioli
A chance to use up the remnants of those packets in the cupboard and those shards of broken spaghetti you’ve been keeping.
Mushroom and Fava Stew
A great use of UK-grown pulses. Serve with a tangy slaw and crusty bread. Serve 6.
Mulled Wine
Feel free to change this recipe at will, you won’t go far wrong! Maybe try a vanilla pod, a few cardamom pods, or a grate of nutmeg in the mix. Or maybe a small bit of ginger, a bay leaf, apples or satsumas. Perhaps a splash of ginger wine or sloe gin before serving?
